KRYPTOS - THE ENCRYPTED WRITINGS

Hi guys, as you know that I have made this blog to make you aware of those mysterious and strange things present in our world. So, I am here to present before you another interesting fact about one of the greatest mystery in the world.

Our world is full of hidden and facts and truths of many mysterious and strange things, creatures or places. In our day to day life, we come to know about them through different media and internet. Here, I am going to bring you face to face with one of the mysterious writings on a sculpture which is still an unsolved mystery to the world.

Kryptos, it is a sculpture with mysterious four encrypted messages it bears. Its made by an American artist "Jim Sanborn" who was an American sculptor, born on November 14, 1945, in Washington, D.C.

Now, you might be thinking if the sculptor is still alive and if he is alive why to create a mess of it and simply ask him. And if he is not alive why did he wrote such sculptures, why didn't he gave the message he wanted to give in a simple and sophisticated manner. I know my friends millions of thoughts would be running on your mind and you desperately want to know everything. But my dear friends if you don't know alphabets of any language would you be able to frame, read or write sentences in that language. So, have patience and lets first get to know about the sculpture, where is it and most importantly the motive of the sculpture behind bringing such a mysterious puzzle to existence.

Jim Sanborn's father was the head of exhibitions at the library of Congress, Washington D.C. and excluding other degrees he has Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Pratt Institute in 1971. He created many sculptural works for Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Central Intelligence agency, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The main themes in his work have included " making the invisible visible ", with many sculptures focusing on topics such as magnetism, the Coriolis effect, secret messages, and mysteries of atomic reactions.

Now, my dear friends, you would have at least known that if a person can sculpture these high profile theories then he must have accurate knowledge of all these facts and theories. And, if this person hides secret messages in his sculptures, there must be something which needs to decipher the codes.

Kryptos is located on the grounds of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)   in Langley, Virginia. Since, its dedication on November 3,1990, there has been much speculation about the meaning of the four encrypted messages it bears. Of the four messages, the first three have been solved, while the fourth message remains as one of the most famous unsolved codes in the world. The sculpture continues to be of interest to cryptanalysts, both amateur and professional, who are attempting to decipher the fourth passage.

The main part of the sculpture is located in the northwest of the New Headquarters Building Courtyard, outside of the Agency's Cafeteria. The sculpture comprises four large copper plates with other elements consisting of water, wood, plants red and green granite, white Quartz, and petrified wood. The most prominent feature is a large vertical S-shaped copper screen resembling a scroll or a piece of paper emerging from a computer printer, half of which consists of encrypted text. The characters are all found within the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet, along with question marks, and are cut out of the copper plates.

Now, my friends after getting to know all these kinds of stuff of the sculpture " The Krypos " you would be thinking about how much balanced and with accuracy this sculpture is designed. But what if I tell you the sculpture consists of many mistakes and you will be more surprised to know that these mistakes cannot be considered as mistakes. What happened, scratching your head, how can this be possible, mistakes are mistakes, whoever does it, mistakes are done then also it's not being considered, why? Yes, my friend, you got that correct its like that only coz the mistakes have been done intentionally and has been said by the artist himself. Even, In April 2006, Sanborn released information stating that a letter was omitted from the left-hand side of Kryptos "for aesthetic reasons, to keep the sculpture visually balanced. Also, there are three misspelled words in the plaintext of the deciphered first three passages, which Sanborn has said was intentional and three letters (YAR) near the beginning of the bottom half of the left side are the only characters on the sculpture in superscript. Similarly, there are other mistakes on other sides of the structure by the artist.

Friends, Is it not surprising that the artist himself made lots of mistakes to make the cryptanalysts find the secret message tough i.e. hard to decipher the codes. Yes, he did that so that it would not be easy for anybody to solve it.

Friends, you would be surprised to know that Sanborn has revealed that the sculpture contains a riddle within a riddle, which will be solvable only after the four encrypted messages have been deciphered. He also gave the information about the sculpture's answer, saying at one time he gave the complete solution to the then - CIA "William Webster" during the dedication ceremony. But later, he also said that he had not given Webster the entire solution.

Its a hope of everyone that before the death of Jim Sanborn, the final riddle which will come after all encrypted messages should be deciphered soon. Otherwise, there would be a great mystery left after the death of Jim Sanborn. Although Jim Sanborn confirmed that if he would die before the entire sculpture becomes deciphered, there will be someone able to confirm the solution. But, who that person is still a mystery and final answer to these encrypted messages has a huge connection with which mystery Jim Sanborn wants us to know is still unknown.

If you guys have something in your mind about what can be the mystery with which it has been related which Jim Sanborn wants us to tell please comment below and write why do think so after reading all the three messages deciphered still today.
