ROOM NUMBER 873

THE BANFF SPRINGS HOTEL

The Banff Springs Hotel is one of the luxurious Canadian railway hotels. This famous hotel in Canada is located in the town of Banff, Alberta. Initially marketed towards European sportsmen and tourists seeking a luxury wilderness experience, the aptly-dubbed " Castle of the Rockies " was built at the behest of CPR President "William Van Home" in 1888. The more the hotel seems luxury to you, the more fearful it is.

The hotel is home to a number of ghostly stories which is officially denied by the hotel management. Many of the guests shared their stories of being haunted by ghosts while staying in room 873. If you go looking for room 873, all you will find is an outline of a doorway. Due to many strange occurrences, the room has been sealed away.

The first of those strange occurrences were quite tragic. According to hotel lore, a man while staying with his wife and young daughter in room 873 for vacation, brutally killed his family and later committed suicide.

Once the mess was cleaned up, the room reopened; leaving no traces except for little fingerprints ( most likely of the daughter ) on a mirror. Supposedly, no matter how many times washed, the fingerprints would always reappear. As the days passed, the spirit of the young girl and in some cases, the spirit of her mother are seen in the room. Guests who stayed in the room after the subsequent investigation and cleanup reported being awoken in the night by violent shrieks and chambermaids as said earlier who routinely cleaned the room would report finding bloody fingerprints on the bathroom mirror that could not be washed off.

Every guest that stayed in the room after that had a paranormal stay. from strange dreams about being choked to unexplainable electrical problems, no one's vacation was peaceful. Therefore, In response to the disturbing reports, hotel management sealed off the room, hoping to keep away any more fear. But still today, some guests say that you can sense something off in the hall and adjacent rooms of room number 873.
